Challange
Commissioned by Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation, UkraineFilmfest needed a secure platform to run an NFT auction raising humanitarian funds.
The auction was tied to UNITED24, Ukraine's official platform for coordinating international support, so the stakes went beyond a typical product launch. The platform needed to be trustworthy enough to handle real donor funds, built on a timeline fixed to live screening events, not a standard development schedule.
Goal
Launch a working platform in time for real-world screening events, with a token structure built around the cause itself.
Deliver something the Ministry and its partners could stand behind, on a fixed timeline, with carbon-negative NFTs at the core rather than a generic marketplace bolted onto a good cause.
Solution
We built the platform on the Hedera Token Service, live in time for launch, with carbon-negative NFTs at its core.
The platform enabled the creation, management, and fast transfer of carbon-negative NFTs, aligning the technology itself with the cause it was raising money for. It launched alongside screening events in Los Angeles and London, with support from Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation and backing from film critic Leonard Maltin.
